A swimsuit can be worn as an undergarment in sports that require a wetsuit such as water skiing, scuba diving, surfing, and wakeboarding. Swimsuits may also be worn to display the wearer’s physical attributes, as in the case of beauty pageants or bodybuilding contests, and glamour photography and magazines like the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue featuring models and sports personalities in swimsuits.
Wicking fabrics are modern technical fabrics that draw moisture away from the body. They are made of high-tech polyester, which, unlike cotton, absorbs very little water. Cotton will absorb 7% of its weight in water, polyester only 0.4%. Cotton will therefore hang onto your sweat, making your garment heavy and unpleasantly clammy. Wicking polyester has a special cross-section and a large surface area, which picks up moisture and carries it away from your body, spreading it out, to evaporate easily on the outside of the fabric. So you stay cool and dry.
Some people will refer to wicking fabrics as being breathable – that is, they let air in and sweat out. Breathable showerproof and waterproof fabrics have tiny pores in the fabric, larger than water vapor molecules (so these can get out) but much smaller than drops of rain (so these can’t get in).
Polyester swimwear:
This type of swimwear is made of 100% polyester (polyester fiber) and is the most common type of swimwear found in shops near the swimming pool. Swimwear is cheap, and some friends who do not swim often choose this type of swimsuit. Polyester swimsuits are wear-resistant and durable. In the production process, 5% to 10% spandex is added to make the swimsuit more flexible.
Nylon swimwear:
Nylon is the most commonly used fabric for making swimwear because nylon has very good water absorption and abrasion resistance, and the price of nylon swimsuits is not much different from that of polyester. There are many swimsuits we buy online or offline. Most of it is made of nylon, nylon itself has good elasticity, and then blended with spandex will have better elasticity.
